Did you get a sewing machine for Christmas? I got my first machine for Christmas when I was 17. I used it until a couple of years ago, when I got my new sewing machine, also at Christmas. What a great gift, eh? So, you've got this great machine, and you're just itching to use it. I have some great projects available for new sew-ers, rusty sew-ers, and intermediate sew-ers.

If you're just starting out, I highly recommend the Aivilo Pouch Wallet or the Aivilo Flapper Purse to help you get used to your machine and learn or remember the basics of sewing. The Pouch Wallet is a fast project (like, less than an hour) that takes a minimal amount of fabric and it's something that'll definitely get used! The Flapper Purse would make a great second project - it's still easy, but takes a bit longer. Buy them both at the BOGO sale in my store for only $6.95 total! http://www.aivilocharlotte.etsy.com/

BOGO Sale ends 12/31!

Upcycled Twirl Skirt

This skirt is so cute; I just love how it twirls!

This adorable twirl skirt has plenty of swing! Made from an upcycled pair of pants and strips of fabric, it looks like an expensive boutique item. But it's not expensive to make at all! Even better, it's quick and simple to sew - if you can sew a straight line, you can make this skirt!

Make matching holiday skirts for your favorite little girls! Or a custom birthday skirt for her special day.

My ebook gives simple instructions for making this skirt for anyone - from babies to girls and even ladies sizes. You can use a rotary cutter and mat to quickly cut your strips, or easily make your own custom pattern piece with your measurements.
